THE ASCENT

Forcela Ciaval and NE ridge.

Beautiful ascent, complete and varied. Engagin ascent of the NE crest.

As in the previous itinerary to the crest cut where you took off the skis (“fake” Forcela Ciaval, 2850 m). Turn right and bring yourself to the SE side, then circumvent a small rocky “guardian”, taking the abscent to the Forcela Ciaval, 2851 m (remains of war walls). From here, follow the crest to the SW. Follow it by its line, if possible, but always on the SE side and reach the peak.

6 - 8 hours

THE DESCEND

Retrace the ascent itinerary. From the peak, descend the NE ridge, which presents an almost perfectly regular incline, trying to keep by the line or on its vicinity, but always on the SE side. Reach the Forcela Ciaval saddle and descend on the SE side until circumventing the 4-5 m high “guardian”, climbing then to the following cut (“fake” Forcela Ciaval). Put on the skis and follow the previous descent itinerary on the Valun de Ciampestrin until the wide flast of Plan de Ciaulunch and then to the Lavarella hut.

• The slope is more marked (30° ÷ 35°). It is not always easy to proceed in a straight line; it is necessary to bend more often, the terrain opens giving a certain degree of route choice
